Congratulations on taking a critical step into protecting your vehicle, I’ve created this FAQs and ceramic education page for all of those that get coated here at Clean Addicts.

Going forward, it should be a near hassle free maintenance as far as keeping the vehicle clean and looking good. I recommend most to limit the amount of hand cleaning and touching due to improper techniques I’ve observed. Running hands or rags on the paint DRY is a big NO!

*CRITICAL* No chemicals, shampoos or car washes for 10-14 days after application, water only, no hands.

How often should I wash my vehicle?

I suggest washing the vehicle when it needs to be washed, don’t unnecessarily wash the vehicle when it doesn’t need to be. For light clean up look up the “rinseless wash method” or even using a detail spray and high quality rags.

Is this scratch resistant like I’ve heard?

No. The surface is however now much more difficult to mar and swirl, especially when washing with proper technique, so partially true.

How often should I come by for my maintenance?

It totally depends on the environment the vehicle is constantly being exposed to, in a combination with the owner keeping the vehicle clean. Contamination that normally is embedded to paint and other surfaces is now being caught by the coating, and needs to be safely removed to restore health and longevity. This contamination will cause the coating to bead and work much less effectively.

Can I use the drive through car wash?

You sure can, I just wouldn’t make it a daily habit and to use the most basic touchless setting always. The shampoos we use here in shop are PH balanced professional grade safe chemicals, and still need proper hand work to get a clean surface. All car washes use an acidic based shampoo to do a good job removing grime without the touch, which is the main cause for black trims fading over years, just a thought.

Should I hand wash the vehicle?

With proper practice and technique, go to town!

Always foam cannon and rinse the vehicle before making contact with your hands, this is key. 2 bucket wash and rinse method, and do your best to safely dry the vehicle. I’d suggest making the small investment into a quality towel and supplies to do this task, and actually enjoy it.

Can/Do I wax/seal the vehicle still?

No, you do not. Can you? Sure. Should you? Not really. The amplified gloss and look the ceramic brings is something you won’t be enhancing furthermore much with waxes. The vehicle gets a full sealant application every time it comes for its maintenance after it receives a proper decontamination wash. I advise most to touch the car as little as possible, and leave it for me if they’re not comfortable.

What if bugs get baked on the front end and mirrors? How do I remove them?

The key is to stay on top of it, regardless of coating if they are left on there for days and weeks, exposed to the hot sun baking to the surface, it can be a task and also damage the coating. It’s best to use a safe bug remover spray made FOR VEHICLES, soft bug sponge and gently work them from the surface after the vehicle sits in soap for a few minutes to soften these acidic buggers.

CONGRATS! You’ve been coated, but what now?
